We offer puppy training, obedience, agility, muzzle conditioning, desensitization, life skills training, trick training and so much more. We will also address mild to moderate fear, anxiety and reactivity. Throw us a bone to see if we offer what you need!
-
All clients begin with a hour long consultation that allows us to gather information about the dog’s background, current behaviors and goals. From there we can find the package that works best for you and your pup.
-
We don’t just look at the behaviors a dog is displaying, but all possible root causes. This coupled with our individualized lesson plans allows us to meet your dog’s needs and create a happier dog and handler. Additionally, we have committed ourselves to affordability, because we believe everyone deserves access to dog training. While there may be cheaper programs, Manners N Motion strives to address behavioral challenges and concerns alongside teaching basic behaviors, which most mainstream training services do not provide.
-
You can reach us anytime via our contact page, email or instagram. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

While we do not offer behavior modification, we have experience with mild to moderate levels of reactivity. While reactivity does not equal agression, it is often mislabeled as agression. Our ability to work with a dog is entirely case dependent and we will be transparent during our consultation about our limitations. In the case that we decide we cannot work with your dog you will not be charged for the consultation and will be provided with resources for finding a certified behavior consultant. If you have purchased a package and your dog’s reactivity has increased to the point that it is beyond our skill set, the cost of the remaining sessions will be refunded.

We service the Bronx, Manhattan and certain parts of Brooklyn and Queens.

We primarily offer in-home training, but can also work in pet-friendly stores, parks and open spaces when working on complex behaviors that involve public distraction. Agility sessions always take place outside in dog-friendly parks, whether that be near you for private sessions or at Central Park for group classes.
-
Yes, all dogs working with Manners N Motion need to have up-date and age-appropriate vaccinations, including but not limited to Rabies Bordetella and Distemper/Parvo. They should also have preventative medication/care such as flea and tick treatment or collars.
-
That’s perfectly okay! Every dog works at their own pace and Manners N Motion cannot guarantee any results at the end of your package. We will always work at the dog’s pace and for some that means needing to additional classes at the end of a package. We offer follow up classes at a discounted rate.
-
No. Dogs that are in heat or recovering from any large injuries or surgeries should be given time to recover before resuming classes. Please let us know in advance if you have any surgeries or vet emergencies. Always feel free to reach out and we will reschedule for when your dog is cleared by your vet.
-
Yes. We understand that life happens, however we always want to stay consistent with our dog’s training so we don’t lose any progress. We will allow a pause in classes as long as it does not exceed 90 days. After 90 days it will be on a case by case basis determined by the trainer.
-
We accept payment through cash, Cash App, or Zelle. Single classes must be paid in full each lesson. For all packages, a 20% deposit must be made upon booking. The remaining balance will be divided and payment will be collected each class. Talk to one of our trainers about payment plans!
-
Yes. You can purchase packages for all of your dogs, but they cannot be trained within the same session. Each dog will have their own one-hour session, either on the same day or separate days. When purchasing two or more packages, there is a 20% discount on the second package.
-
We typically hold weekly sessions to allow you and your dog time to work on your homework. That being said, some dogs may benefit from two weekly sessions, but this is entirely case dependent.
-
With the knowledge and skills gained in our sessions, you can continue to work with your dog and reinforce desired behaviors. At Manners N Motion, we offer lifetime support. We are always here to offer support and guidance. We offer one free review session within one year after the end of your package. Additional classes must be purchased if necessary after the review.
-
If you cannot make it to your session, please give at least 24 hour notice. If there is less than 24 hour notice, that class will be deducted from your package as if it has been used.
