Keeping it Pawsitive

At Manners N Motion we use force-free, positive reinforcement methods that utilize the addition of rewards to teach dogs what behaviors we want. Rather than suppressing behaviors and emotions, we rewire your dog’s brain to create and positive associations with previous triggers, new behaviors, environments, etc. This process, classical conditioning, helps us create well-rounded dogs set up to succeed in most, if not all, settings.

Not one paw fits all

Every dog differs in size, color, temperament and so much more. So why wouldn’t they differ in how they learn too? Manners N Motion believes there is no perfect route for dog training, instead we offer individualized lesson plans that address each dogs needs and works at their own pace. Our classes will never feel robotic and are always flexible based on your dog’s progress and changing needs.

SIt, Stay, Stimulate

We don’t just train dogs—we enrich their lives in every area. Physical and mental stimulation play a part in how our dog handles everyday life, including how they respond to us and their environment. An unfulfilled dog likely won’t excel in obedience, but at Manners N Motion, no dog goes unfulfilled. We strive to guide clients on how to better fulfill their dog’s needs based on breed and energy level.

Our Team

Colton Vines

Lead Trainer

Colton’s love of dogs began at a young age, as he was immersed in the world of training by his mother—a trainer of 25 years. Starting with being a distraction for his mother’s sessions and moving on to training his first psychiatric response service dog at 14. As he moved into adulthood he dived deeper into the world of training continuing to work alongside his mother, later branching out and gaining formal education. Colton is nearing the end of his education at CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, will receive his CCDT and will sit for the CPDT-KA exam. As of today he has 5+ years of experience working at various facilities, focusing on obedience, agility, service dog training, and enrichment of a dog’s everyday life. In his free time, Colton can be found caring for his at-home zoo as his love for animals goes beyond dogs, extending to hermit crabs, jumping spiders, mice and so much more.

Cassian Harwell-Vines

Trainer

Cassian’s introduction to the dog world began in college as a volunteer dog walker, but his true love for training began after meeting Colton. After adopting their first dog, Dolce, Cassian has dedicated most of his spare time to her basic obedience using her as his student dog for CATCH Canine Trainers Academy and the Goodpup Certification Program. He holds his Goodpup Trainer Certification, Fear Free Certification and is working towards his CCDT and CPDT-KA. Working alongside Colton, Cassian is gaining more hands on experience as a trainer, leading private and group classes for obedience. His love for training has now expanded into service dog training. He is working with his new service dog prospect, Gunner, on foundational skills. In his free time he can be found reading, training Gunner, and working at doggie daycare, cuddling dogs.
